Back in the hobvy after a 4yr break due to personal reasons. Was flicking through the TSB site and came across a thread on the nw members page with a link to here so thought i would join.
My name is les and have been into the salty stuff for about 15yr all told, was / am a member of the TSB since 2007, was once a good site but on checking things have gone downhill, i hope this is as ctive as the TSB once was.
Tanks is an aquaone aquanano 60, 100ltr, about 12kg of dead lr which is coming back to life.....hopefully, a pair of black ice clowns and 1 lps single head torch as we stand, torch only went in yesterday 02.01.20 but looks like its very happy today, well thats enough for one day.
Hi les and welcome to the forum, I remember you from the old SB days as you were only up the road from me, Not quite as active as the old SB was as yet but things are definitely on the up.
Thanks for the welcome mate, im sure it wont take long to get up and running and active, im gona be honest with ya mate but i dont remember off the top of my head.....was that in ossy ??
Hi and welcome, I remember you too, I have a feeling we bumped into each other in Burscough, possibly Tom and Emma Tucker were there the same day? Might be my memory (it's my age!!)
Nice tank, identical to mine only 3 times the volume, what are you lighting it with?
Hi gordon, yes i am the greengrass from the old tsb and yes i bought one of your units amongst other bits n bobs off of you, it was one of your 1st unit you put out and they do look nicer these days 😁.
Hi colin, i am yes and in all fairness i think we did cross paths in burscough a few times mate.
Jim.....was good to meet you aswell today mate, it was actually good to be back in steves after over 4yr out lol, things are settling and i will get pics tomorrow once all ok, royal gramma veing shy, branching hammer slowly coming out but the main gammer is loving it already.

Good to be back 😁
I thought we had, it was a fair bet you'd bump into someone from TSB every time you went it
I'm new back into it again too after a three year break but only a small tank as I can't be doing with the water changes!!! I'm getting too old to be humping big buckets around.
If you're thinking about another Reefloat ATU ask Gordon for the same fitting as he gave me, it's absolutely perfect on the Aquaone
It's just a couple of clips, an adjustable one that holds the sensor and another that holds the outlet securely. The sesnor holder is a standard nano/pico fitting but the outlet Gordon bodged up for me as a stopgap while he got/made new proper fittings but it was so perfect I said don't bother.
Ah yeah i see what ya mean, hmmm might be worth looking into that. How much ro are ypu going through on a weekly basis ?? Im going through about 14ltr so 2ltr a day ish give or take which i can live with
I'm using around 5L a week but given my tank is a third of the size of yours it seems about right, the last couple of days though it has used nothing at all, maybe 1/2L
Have you seen the Reefloat mini skimmer? Far end of my picture, fits in that mini sump a treat, a bit of a fiddle to get set right but once it is it just works
Well blow me down with a feather duster lol, how's tricks pal? Been a long time
Hahaha alright pal, it has been a long time you're right, nigh on 5yr im reckoning. Was looking through the old tsb and saw this link and here we are. All good here and how the devil are you ??
