Right heres one for you guys and gals.....I have a 8 x 80w sunpower which I love...but I also miss the pop of leds. I'm thinking of taking out the 4 middle tubes and cutting 2 square holes to place my 2 x hydra 26 hd in as some kind of diy hybrid. I've seen something similar but with a kessil unit. What are your thoughts? Cheers
I would do it if you can get the coverage from the 2 Hydras. Use the Hydras to ramp up and down and bring in the T5s during the brightest time, make the T5s last longer too

Yes mate that was my exact reasoning. Why pay out for the ati hybrid unit when you can do it yourself!! Just wondering if anybody has already done something similar
I did something similar with some of the very first Chinese LEDs I had, I'd mad a black perspex housing for them because they were butt ugly and I retro fitted some T5s to it, I have to admit they were quite good but LEDs have come an awful long way since then. T5s still have a very valid place in the hobby so I honestly think it can only do more good than harm
